I, like many, was unconsolable on August 7th, 2019 when David Berman left this world. The only thing I was able to do to cope with his passing was to listen to his music over and over again, to try to find new insights, new witty lyrics I had missed before, anything to keep the spirit of him alive.

I organized this compilation as a way for artists to create new art out of Berman's work; a way to find more beauty in his words and music. Covers, like live tracks or demo versions, allow for a unique take on originals, and I hope that you all enjoy these new renditions of Berman's masterpieces.

All of the proceeds from this compilation will be donated to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. www.nami.org/Home
